In India, Pakistan, and Nepal, the card game 3-2-5 (Teen Do Panch), also known as 2-3-5 or 5-3-2, is played using a pack of 30 cards. The three participants have quotas of 3, 2, and 5 tricks, and those who win more of it than their quota benefits from snatching or ‘pulling’ cards from those who did not meet their quota in the next deal. The 52-card game Sergeant Major, sometimes known as 3-5-8 or 8-5-3, is closely connected to 3-2-5.

In India, the 3 2 5 game is one of the most popular cards. It is also known as the 5 3 2 card game or the 2 3 5 card game. This card game is mainly played between 3 players using only thirty cards from a card deck. The cards that are below eight are not included in this game. But it consists of the 7 of the spades and 7 of the heart. In this game, the seven seats rank higher than the 7 of the spades. Then it follows a certain order: Ace, king, queen, jack, 10, 9, 8, 7, and ranks high to low.

There will be 3 players. And one of them is the dealer; the other player would be the cutter, lastly, the third player. The card is distributed by the dealer, and then the caller or the cutter of the game will always cut the card deck and then call the trump. This player who has the trump would sit on the dealer’s right, while the third player will sit on his left.

The 3 2 5 game, the trump card consists solely of the 7 of the hearts and the 7 of the spades. If the player has the 7 of the spades, another player might play either a 7 or the spade. Regardless of the identical suits, the seven will belong to the trump suit.

According to the 3 2 5 card game regulations, which you can refer here, the dealer’s primary goal is mainly to win more than two tricks; then this trump player must collect more than five tricks, so the last player must contain more than three tricks. If you’re unfamiliar with the term “trick,” it refers to the western game of cards where each participant plays the card to simulate a pile, with the higher-ranking card winning.

 Deal

The first dealer is picked in whatever way that is most convenient. Take a 5, a 3, and a two from the discarded section of the pack, mix them face down and have each player draw one. The dealer is the player who receives the 2, while the player who gets the five seats to the dealer’s right and the player who receives the 3 sits to the left, such that their starting trick quotas correspond to the cards they received. After that, the turn to deal is passed to the right with each new transaction.

The dealer shuffles the deck, the player to the dealer’s right cuts, and then the dealer distributes a batch of 5 cards to all player, starting with the right, then the left, and finally the dealer. The player chooses and announces the trump suit on the dealer’s right. The dealer then hands a batch of three cards to each player in the same sequence, followed by a set of two cards, giving each player a total of ten cards.

Variations of the game

There are a few changes in the 3 2 5 game rules that the players might use at their choice.

  • You can select a minimum number of suits to hold during passing. The players must hold one or two cards of each suit when passing the cards, depending on the minimum limit established.
  • The two distinct sevens of Spades and Hearts might be assigned as the highest cards above Ace.
